Amazing response for 2012
The response to the Annual Golf Festival, to be staged between Monday 10th to Friday 14th September 2012 at Heysham, Lancaster and Morecambe Golf Clubs, has delighted the Festival Committee.
Golfers are attracted from all parts of the United Kingdom including the North of England, the Midlands, Scotland and Wales.
The Festival goes from strength to strength with a continuing increase in entries. Each year the Festival receives generous support from the business and private sectors.
New Sponsors are attracted each year and the Festival Committee are delighted that the following companies are continuing their association by sponsoring one of the events in 2012. Metamark, Carlsberg Tetley, John Wilding-Citroen, Ratcliffe and Bibby Legal Limited, Jessops Estate Agents, Sunlight Textile Services Limited, Singleton Golf Promotions, Bac and M.W. Financial Solutions Limited.
The programme includes Men's Fourballs, Team Events and a 3-Day Festival Trophy. There is a Ladies Team Competition and an Open Team Event. Prize money has been increased to £10,000.00.
The Festival Trophy kindly donated by Classic Gifts & Engravers Limited of Morecambe is the major prize for the 3 day event played as a pair's combination. This year the winners were Gavin Thompson and Nick Lamb from Heysham Golf Club with a combined total of 127 points.
Due to the continuing popularity of the Festival, within weeks of the completion of the events entries have already reached 1,700. Entries have been received from France and the USA!
